From Lebovitz 2-17 on Fryman

MEDICAL REPORT

"There is good news already out of Winter Haven. TravisFryman arrived in camp early, is throwing and hitting without any shoulder pain. He says his surgically repaired shoulder is completely healed and those who witnessed his throws across the diamond yesterday tell me he's zinging them the way he did before his injury. His elbow still hurts but it doesn't handicap his throws or swings and he says its something he's lived with before."


The good news the shoulder is fine. The bad news the elbow still hurts and that was his original problem. Fryman (as he did last year) thinks he can play through the pain. Is there any logical reason for him to be more successful than last year. I think not. I'm afraid were stuck with another sub-par year of Fryman. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't make it through the year before finally opting for the needed Tommy John surgery on his elbow.
And where does this leave Branyan. He's trying to win the LF job but the Tribe will probably dick him around by playing a lot of 3b in spring so the're covered if (or when) Fryman goes down.

First God created Fryman, then when God realized that Fryman would play until his joints fell off, God Created pain.

Poor Travis was left to walk the earth, oblivious to what the purpose of pain really was.
